Things to know about Hanging Surf Club: -Leo (owner) is a genuinely kind, humble and patient person. -He is an excellent teacher. -Pays attention and can work out technical issues very quickly - being tall and clumsy, this really helped me learn to surf 😅 -Makes sure that you enjoy yourself while making progress!! I was in Bali for a month at the beginning of 2023. Living in Berlin for 5 years, coming from Australia, it had been some time since being in the water. I learned about Leo through a friend and had several classes with him. I’m not exactly the easiest student - I get pretty frustrated if I don’t get something I’ve been able to do before, but Leo was extremely patient and reassuring during our lessons. By the end of our sessions, I was pretty independent on the board, which is what I was hoping for. Would highly recommend Leo for all skills levels. He is a crazy good longboarder himself!

Leo is a fantastic surf coach, professional, safety conscious, a patient teacher and a great guy. I’ve learnt so much from him and gained a lot more confidence out in the waves. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for surfing lessons in Canggu.
Had a great time in Bali for my recent holiday thanks to my surf coach Leo. He really helped me hone my surfing skills but gave me so many tips to improve my holiday outside of the water too. Can't wait to get back over there and surf with Leo again.
I started surfing with hanging surf club and it was the best decision ever. Thanks to the owner (Leo) who is not only my surf coach but also became one of my friends I had the best time learning surfing. My surf skills improved over the time a lot and each time im back in Bali i‘d always choose to go surfing with hanging surf club!
Very friendly, professional and great surf school! I learnt a lot and covered all the basics of surfing from coach Leo and Nixon. I start learn how to properly paddle, how to stand up on board and turn, and how to get the real wave here. always enjoy spend time here.... would recommend 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
